Horrible. What the hell was up with the goofy-pyramid special effects? It was like Earth, Wind, and Fire meets Star Trek. . .horrible film.
An interesting twist on a myth that has been around for a very long time. Requires some open mindedness like most scifi. I guess if you don't get it you never will. Spinned off into two very good tv shows.
Production values were decent, the techno-Egyptian motif was easy on the eyes. Fundamentally though this film wasn't particularly insightful or hugely interesting.
Mediocre, if rather pretty to look at. About as challenging as "Dick and Jane Visit Nasa"
I don't understand how any postpubescent human being could think the premise of this show is interesting or reasonable in the least. Intellectually (almost comically) puerile, this is comic book material for teenagers.
Heck, this is a pretty good one, very entertaining and thought provoking.
this is a wonderful movie.i give it 5 stars because of the beautiful creature"Ra"!
A very original plot but never fully realized on screen. The acting was decent although not particularly good I guess. Not many special effects but those it had were well done. The story only has a few slow areas and is entertaining. This is one of my weaker 4 ratings and I do feel it is worth seeing but not that strongly. I will be interested to read future comments on this movie since I don't...
Stargate [Blu-ray] [Blu-ray] (2007) Blue-Ray
Original story, a device that opens up the virtually instantaneous travel to any part of the galaxy. A thousands of years old dying alien enslaves the people of Abydos, forcibly taken away from earth during the raise of the Egyptian culture. The team of Stargate Command arrives at Abydos and attempts to destroy the alien being and free the Abydonians. Kurt Russel shines in the plot.
