Strengths: More characters. More action. better customization. Looks fantastic.
Weakness: No major improvements.
X-Men Legends II is a very good sequel to numeral uno. There is a greatre ability to customize your characters. Also, this tiem you can team up with villians like Magneto and Juggernaut to fight the forces of Apocalypse. So The extra variety of characters is very cool. So it's a great new adventure with more options, more characters, and it looks great.
Other than that, it doesn't add a whole liot new to the table. You won't fidn anything groundbreaking here. But you know what they say. If it ain't broke...

TopStrengths: Improves on the original and expands the world
Weakness: Felt a little more buggy than the first game
For multiplayer beat-em-up action, Legends 2 is a treat. Solved were the two main problems from the first game: automatic stat assigning when levelling up (so you don't have to pause the action) and making it feel more multiplayer. In the first game, there was a lot of downtime searching for people to talk to before missions, and at the start of the game only one person could play. In the sequel, 4 can start playing immediately, and the between mission time is vastly reduced. The plot is fairly straightforward and the boss battles oddly revealed during load screens, but overall, the game is solid.
I did experience one game crippling bug towards the end of the game that made my saved game useless when trying to load, but fortunately was not using a single save file.
The one improvement that could still be made would be to automate the items. Since you have so many characters and items, it can be confusing, especially because it does not automate characters when they are not in your party. This can mean either wasting time switching characters and optimizing weapons, or just ignoring items most of the time. Doesn't crippled the game, but slows it down, especially when playing with others.

TopStrengths: XBL-capable multiplayer, expanded roster of characters, good graphics
Weakness: None apparent
X-Men Legends 2 takes the first game and gives it some nice improvements. First to be added is XBL-capable co-op gameplay, which adds some nice replay to the game. The character roster is expanded with characters from both the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. The graphics get a minor tweak, and still look good.

TopStrengths: graphics, fun
Weakness: none
X-Men Legends 2 is a pretty decent action RPG sequel to the original X-men Legends. The graphics are good. X-men 2 gameplay and story are pretty good. If you are a fan of Marvel and or the X-men series X-men legends 2 is a good investment.

TopStrengths: Online play. Awesome cinematics. Tons of characters. DEADPOOL !!!
Weakness: Boring story. Repetitive gameplay. Too much dialog. Noone plays online.
X-men Legends 2 is the cash in sequel to the first X-Men Legends game. The first game was a refreshing take on comicbook games. Like the first game you control 4 characters at once. You can switch between each character and take direct control of them. It is basically a hack n' slash RPG set in the X-men universe. For the sequel, online play was added yet there is never anyone online. This is understandable since the offline game is so boring. There is way too much dialog to wade through. The game is very easy which makes the player feel like they're just mashing the same button over and over. The cinematics on the other hand are some of the best in any video game. In the end, X-men legends 2 is not as good as the first game. Try before you buy.

TopStrengths: Impressive presentation; interactive environments; extensive use of X-Men franchise; satisfying music and voice acting; Xbox Live
Weakness: Too many load screens; sound effects a bit weak
X-Men Legends II is the sequel to the popular X-Men Legends, and this game is just as impressive as its predecessor. This game makes great use of the cast of X-Men characters and does so in a manner that fans of the series will surely enjoy. The environments are interactive and destructible just like the first game. The music and voice acting are impressive yet again. However, what makes this game most fun is its multiplayer capability. You can play this with buddies at home or on Xbox live. The only flaws this game has are the numerous load times and the lack of punch that the sounds effects have. Other than that, I highly recommend purchasing this game especially if you're a fan of the X-Men series.

TopStrengths: Game play, sound, storylines, character choice
Weakness: Graphics, repetitive
X-men Legends II builds on its predecessor (already a great game) by adding many new characters and storylines from the X-men universe. This Gauntlet-type hack and slash game is one of my favorite games.
The game play is excellent. Taking control of 4 mutants and using their powers effectively on the many environments and against a variety of enemies are stunning. Also, the additional RPG elements that are added to the game boost the stats of team members making them customizable to how you want to proceed through the game.
The many characters you can choose from to round out your team and the addition of unlockable characters and costumes definitely improve upon its predecessor. Additionally, selecting certain 4 character teams boost the performance of your team. The storylines are mostly taken from previous comic adventures, but none feel stale or out of place. The missions are split up nicely and also very engaging.
There are only a couple of drawbacks in this game, one being the graphics. I expected the game to improve on its top down look and actually make the characters larger and the action more close up. Also, the battles against many onscreen enemies get repetitive.
Overall, the game is fun to play and I would recommend it.

TopStrengths: The game that X-Men Legends should have been. It's got four-player online co-op, it's got tons of playable characters including a healthy range of X-men and the Brotherhood of Evil, and it's bigger, more interactive, and it's re-organized for more eff
Weakness: In the grand scheme of things, nothing major has changed here. The cut scenes need some work
If your a fan of the X-Men comic books, you will love this game. If you can't for this summer's X-Men 3, you will love this game. Some of the plot of this summer's movie are in the game -- but that is not a spoiler because the game is not based on the movie. What you get is the entire X-Men universe and you get the chance to team up some of the foes and villians in some spectacular battles. While mixing and matching friend and foe is fun, its not easy in this comic book RPG. Your choices matter and you will find that if you make the wrong combos, it will be much harder to play. It is not until you level you characters up to about level 20 that the team combos really excel. The biggest enhancement to Rise of Apocalypse is the support of four-player cooperative online gaming. It's hard to qualify the exact thrill one gets from teaming up with friends online. In the graphics department, this game is "comic book" shaded versus the cell shade look of the previous game. If you have a HDTV that handles 720p, here is your chance to show off that great set. The play looks like a 3D saturday cartoon and everything is coming to life on your screen. Every move every action looks amazing. Most of all, if your a X-Men fan the team that developed this game has given a wink and a nod to you. The number of unlockables including costumes from various series and comic book covers is just too many to talk about. By far, this is one of the best comic book games released so far. While this game is available for all the consoles, the Xbox (thanks to 720p support and fast processor) plays and looks the best over all other platforms

TopStrengths: co-op
Weakness: camera
This game is how all comic book based games should be made. It is fun, exciting, has depth, and has multiplayer. The game is 20+ hour diablo style romp through the world of X-men. You should defintley buy this game.

TopStrengths: More characters
Weakness: Pretty much the Same as the 1st game
If you like the X-Men and you enjoyed the first game, you will love this game. The additional characters such Magneto, Bishop, Sunfire and Scarlet Witch make the game a little bit more fun the fans of the comic. The Boss battles are great, and the online features are outstanding. The only thing is if you own a PSP and a fan, you would better off buying PSP version with additional missions. But the X-Box version is very much worth the price.

2005 Game of the Year
Strengths: Gameplay (Single and Multiplayer), Cast, Visuals, Replay Value
Weakness: Camera angles at times can be awkward, No Cable in this version :(
X-Men fans rejoice. This is truly a game worth every penny. To begin, if you enjoyed the original, there's nothing not to like in this one. All the elements you loved from the original are re-introduced here, and then improved on. The cast of characters is solid, now uniting the X-Men and the Brotherhood. There are more mutant powers to choose from, and most are easily swappable in-game to give you even more gameplay options. This game definatley gives you more game for the money. I logged just over 40 hours my first time through after exploring the game thoroughly.
The multiplayer aspect is taken to a whole new level, as RoA is now playable on Xbox Live. The only downfall to the multiplayer is if you play as Wolverine and your buddy. playing as Juggernaut, decides to pick you up and throw you off a cliff. Trust me, I know.
Anyway, the replay value is there as well. With 3 unlockable characters available after beating the game (2 of which require you to meet more challanges during the game), its easy to jump right back in. Improving on the original, now all your built-up powers and attributes carry over into a new game if you so choose.
The game's cinematics are unbelievable. I was truly taken by surprise in this aspect. Every cutscene I saw was beautifully detailed and articulated and worthy of a big-screen showing. Compared the the PS2 version, the Xbox really does a good job making the graphics and cinematics MUCH crisper and cleaner. Not to mention the annoying (and constant) load-times in the PS2 version are cut dramatically via the power of the Xbox.
The only complaints I had were minor. At times the camera can be a little awkward. But those times were few and far between and quickly remedied. And for an X-Men game focusing on Apocalypse, I was disappointed with the exclusion of Cable in the Xbox version. Other then that, it definatley got my pick for game of the year in 2005.
