A great, creepy game!
Strengths: Great atmosphere, interesting storyline
Weakness: A little short, odd controls
This is an intriguing, survival-horror game with an impressive storyline and nice graphics. The sound effects are eerie, and the plot twists are great. The controls are a bit odd, but this is a small issue. Definitely pick up this one!

TopSilent Hill 3
Strengths: Spooky story keeps you at the edge of your seat
Weakness: Not very long
Silent Hill 3 continues the story of the town of Silent Hill. This time the lead character is a female named Heather. Graphics are great as usual, and the music is super scary. Together they make for a suspensful and frightning experience. New weapons include a sub-machine gun, and a katana. Also, when the game was originally released it included the Official Silent Hill 3 Sountrack with 60 minutes of music.

Silent Hill 3
Strengths: superb graphics, good gameplay, ScArY, good story, and some good riddles (well except for EASY of course)
Weakness: a little more fighting, a little less running
OK for all those who think Xbox has better graphics, well think again! This game has stunning good graphics, and the riddles prove to be a quite difficult and require a good mind. Though you shouldn't buy it if you get scared easy.:) My little brother (9yrs.) got nightmares from it and even I keep a baseball bat and knifes within my reach thinks to this game and the movie THE RING, but still it is fun and should be bought by every PS2 owner and those who are daring.

TopSilent Hill 3
Strengths: Fantastic survival horror.
Weakness: Story won't mean as much if you haven't played SH1.
When Silent Hill 2 came out, many people were disappointed that it had a completely new story rather than completing SH1's. Well, SH3 is that follow-up that everyone wanted so badly. Because of this, it's not a great place to start, but fans of the series will find a lot to like here. If you've never tried a Silent Hill, I recommend starting with SH2, and if you like that, playing SH1 and then SH3. SH4 is a beast all its own.

Strengths: Its a fun game to play through once or twice. Kinda scary at parts. Nice graphics, sound, ect.
Weakness: It is very very linear, and very very easy.
This game let me down so much. I just finished playing silent hill 2, which was so much better than this game. The storyline was much better in 2, and so was the atmosphere. Silent hill 3 seems like a watered down version of 2, with simplified fighting, puzzles and storyline for the mentally challenged. Its a decent game, but no where near as good as sh2

Yo man this game is ok i whould giv this game a *** but try killzone 1 or 2 (no 2 is coming out this year soon).
Atmosphere and story collide once again for another...
Strengths: Excellent graphics, scary atmosphere, good story that makes you think.
Weakness: Controls.
Silent Hill 3 is a direct sequel to the first Silent Hill and should be played afterwards for maximum enjoyment. The game still keeps the tradmark "Other World", and really goes the extra mile in this installment to truly scare players with the Other World effects. The hospital is a total slap in the face in Other World. The graphics are really well detailed, the character show life-like expressions during various cutscenes and their in-game models look incredibly well detailed. The story, like the other Silent Hill games, is very intelligent and requires you to piece everything together and develop your own thoughts as to what is actually going on at times. The only flaw is the same flaw from the other Silent Hill games - the contols seems to be a bit clunky. If your a survival horror fan this game is a must.

Strengths: The mood, atmosphere, variety of environments.
Weakness: None in particular
I loved the original Silent Hill for PlayStation and am glad that Silent Hill 3 is related to the original PS1 game unlike Silent Hill 2. The mood, graphics, and gameplay are all what you'd expect if you played the original game in the series and all pulled off very well. The images in Silent Hill 3 will stay with you.

Silent Hill 3 for the PS2 is an incredible survival horror game from Konami. Fans of the first two games will know what to expect. This is probably the scariest video game series on the market. The graphics in this third installment are some of the best seen on the PS2. Everything has a realistic and dirty look to it. The creature designs are straight out of your worst nightmares. The audio in this game is excellent as in all the Silent Hill games. You do play as a girl this time though so some players may or may not like that. That is really the only thing I can think of that might be considered a negative. The game is excellent and a true horror masterpiece. If you own a PS2 then buy this game at once!

An interesting review,but it does make a person wonder if perhaps you don't like girls (cooties aren't real)I always play as a girl when I have a choice because I'm a girl watcher and it gives me a chance to play and watch the character.For others like me I'd recomend final fantasy and shadow hearts.

Scarrier than Silent Hill 2
Strengths: Great Story, Superb Graphics, Good Puzzles, Difficult Combat, Varied Enemy Types, Decent Voice-Acting, Well-Presented, Scary!
Weakness: Short, Not Much Replay Value, Some Camera Issues, Repetitive Gameplay
Silent Hill 3 keeps everything that was good in Silent Hill 2, and it improves on the things that Slient Hill 2 lacked! First and foremost, the graphics are one of the best to be ever seen on the PS2. They are truly life-like (but still the environments are really really dark). This game is scarrier than Silent Hill 2 (and Silent Hill 2 was really scary). The game's female lead character is very well presented and adds to the scary experience. The enemies are ... well ... gross ... vomit invoking gross. The combat is much harder this time, and the bad camera issues don't help the cause either. The bosses are hard and gross like everything else in the game. Again, puzzles dominate the game, and are well done. The game's story is very intriguing and makes you want to play more. The game is relatively short (6-8 hours), but it has multiple endings and unlockables (but not much to warrant another stroll through the hellish world). This game is probably the best survival-horror game out there. A must have for anyone with a strong stomach. 10/10.

The Static Horror Returns
Strengths: Engrossing story, stunning graphics for the PS2, Vivid horror imagery
Weakness: Camera, some cheap shock moments, difficult
Silent Hill continues with another installment, just as twisted and surreal as the last. The series has been quite unique in that it's not always about horror for the sake of horror, but that there's often a complex story underlying and explaining things in a cryptic manner. It's not always easy to follow or figure out, but it's definitely unique in terms of game storywork.
The graphics are incredible, some of this stuff you would've never imagined the PS2 pulling off beforehand. The camera isn't as helpful as I'd like, but it does at least get the job done. Gameplay? Eh, the controls can be quite love-or-hate, but they aren't "bad" by any stretch of the imagination, you just might not mesh with them well.
Definitely a unique gaming experience, although a heck of a creepy one.

Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror game for PS2. You play as Heather Morris as she goes through the town of Silent Hill. Silent Hill 3 is a sequel to Silent Hill 1. The game plays like any of the other Silent Hill's, but what really makes this series great is the atmosphere of the games. This game is downright creepy. Which is why I love the Silent Hill series. Big flaw is that Silent Hill 2 is a much better game overall.
Give the game 4 stars if you love Silent Hill series or are looking for a great survival horror game.

Strengths: Very good atmosphere, good main characters and story (espically if you've played Silent Hill 1!)
Weakness: Very shot and linear - same formula as the last two games
I was a big fan of the original Silent Hill, and it was refreshing to see this game be a continuation of that story. There were some genuine scares in the game, and I came away feeling very impressed by the atmosphere that the developers have created. I would definately recommend this game to any fan of the survival horror genre.

Weakness: Quite short, exact same formula as SH 1 and 2.
The silent hill series has always been one of the scaries and well done horror game series. The same applies with SH 3. Like usuall you walk around solving puzzles, exploring and killing/running from various monsters. If you are a Horror fan or liked the previous games you will enjoy this one the same. The only gripe I have is that it is a very short game, but replayability is increased by multiple endings.

Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror game & a good one at that. It's just as scary if not more than Silent Hill 1 or 2. The game doesn't really offer anything new to the series or survival horror games but is well done & very solid. The game also offers 3 different endings so you have incentive to play though it multiples times to see all the game has to offer. I would recommend Silent Hill 3 to anyone that likes survival horror games as it's very well done.

The whole world of Silent Hill is created with very impressive graphics, frightening atmosphere, excellent sounds, all creating a very scary world. Puzzles abound, all of them challenging, throughout the story and keeping interest in the storyline. Horror fans must get this game without question.
